Water and milk are the best drinks for your family

Water is freely available from the tap and is the perfect drink when you are thirsty.

Some ideas for making water more appealing to children are:

  • Make water the fun choice by letting your children choose their own water bottle or drinking cup.

  • Fill up water bottles and pop them in lunch boxes or school bags so your family always has a drink on hand.

  • At mealtimes, put a large water jug or bottle on the table. It’s cheaper and better for your family than cordial or fizzy drink.

  • Add slices of fruit such as lemon to make water more delicious.

  • Milk is another great drink choice for kids at meal times or as a snack. Milk contains lots of goodness and helps build strong bones.
